The Alan Turing Institute is seeking a Head of Skills within their Academic Engagement .

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and inspirational leader to position the Institute within this landscape, developing and driving an ambitious skills strategy that will complement the emerging vision of the recently appointed Chief Scientist.

With a passion for tackling the skills gap, the role holder will be expected to make independent and far-reaching decisions on the vision and mechanisms to deliver and grow our flagship programmes with national availability to promote the development of data scientists, especially at the early career researcher stages. This work will need to be carried out while balancing the needs of the Institute, its partners and the wider skills agenda within the data science and AI community.

Critical to the success of this role will be the individual’s ability to work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, to understand the evolving data science and AI skills landscape, to identify where and how the Institute can achieve maximum impact and to build partnerships, and convene others to ensure effective delivery of and leadership in data science and AI skills.

The position will be offered on a permanent full-time basis
