The Alan Turing Institute

The Alan Turing Institute is seeking a number of Research Assistants and Research Associates, Trustworthy Digital Infrastructure for Identity Systems.

Role purpose

The Alan Turing Institute is looking for 7 individuals to join their Trustworthy Digital Infrastructure for Identity Systems project. This is a multi-disciplinary project, which aims to enhance the privacy and security of national digital identity systems. It is funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and brings together skills from diverse fields such as threat modelling and red teaming, dynamic cyber security and real-time governance, risk modelling, cloud solutions, privacy enhancing technologies and security policy development. Our researchers work closely with Principal Investigators, Technical Development Manager, other PDRAs and programme management staff across the team.

Duties and and area of responsibility

Each of these 7 roles will have a distinct area of research focus:

  1. Trustworthy UX for Digital Identity
  2. Biometrics Standards for Remote Onboarding
  3. Identity as a Digital Public Good
  4. Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) Best Practice Development
  5. Remote Onboarding Framework
  6. Synthetically Accurate Data Generation
  7. Trustworthiness Platform Development

These full-time posts are offered on a fixed term basis for 6-months from the date of appointment (with the possibility of extension, depending on project requirements).
