We recognise that in real-world settings, there will often be interdependencies and tensions among the above goals and performance. To make constructive progress, we will examine settings in context, working with practitioners and domain experts. Application domains include clean energy, healthcare, criminal justice, and finance.

We are looking for ambitious, strong researchers to contribute to these areas. A key consideration for this role is how we can try to ensure good performance of human-machine teams when working together to comprehend situations and solve domain challenges. Experience and expertise in human perception, cognition or decision making applied to human-computer interaction, human-data interaction, visualization, visual analytics, analytics translation, or related areas will be highly desirable.

Applicants with strong theoretical backgrounds and/or applied experience are welcome.

This is a full-time, two-year fixed term opportunity.
