Cambridge Zero Demonstrators Lab Programme launched – recruiting participants and project ideas
The Cambridge Zero Demonstrators Lab Programme is launching this term at the Maxwell Centre.
Capitalising on the University of Cambridge expertise and network of connections, channeled through the Cambridge Zero and the Maxwell Centre, we will deploy the newly refurbished Demo Lab to accelerate progress towards meeting zero carbon targets. We will recruit interdisciplinary cohorts of researchers who will commit part of their time over a fixed-term period to work in teams on formulating and tackling challenge-driven “sprintshop” projects.
Calls are currently opened for:
1. Joining the CZ Demo Lab Programme cohort: UoC research staff members are invited to participate in the programme. Successful applicants can receive salary buy-out funding of up to £3k to work ~1 day a week over 12 weeks’ (between December 2021 and March 2022) on a team project of their choice.
Application deadline: 15 November 2021, more details here: https://www.maxwell.cam.ac.uk/programmes/cambridge-zero-demonstrators-lab/pilot-programme-cohort
2. Challenge ideas: can be suggested for programme cohort to engage with by the 29 November 2021.
Proposers of challenges selected by the Demonstrator Lab are not eligible for direct funding from the Programme, but can benefit from their technology/solution being further de-risked, showcased and accelerated with support of the CZ Demo Lab resources. More info here: https://www.maxwell.cam.ac.uk/programmes/cambridge-zero-demonstrators-lab/challenge-sourcing (NB: the Pilot round of the programme will focus on projects within the EPSRC remit, but we are hoping to broaden it out in 2022, funding allowing).
