Cohort Data Manager (Research Associate)
MRC Cognition & Brain Sciences Unit
Applications are invited for the role of Cohort Data Manager at the MRC Cognition & Brain Sciences Unit (CBU; https://www.mrc-cbu.cam.ac.uk) at the University of Cambridge, UK.
The CBU is an internationally renowned research institute with state-of-the-art cognitive neuroscience facilities, including MRI, EEG, MEG, TMS, as well as several cohorts and volunteer/patient panels for behavioural and neuroscientific research. The CBU cohorts provide valuable resources for research on human development and ageing, and include, for example, data collected from the "CamCAN" and "CALM" cohorts that are widely used internationally (https://www.mrc-cbu.cam.ac.uk/our-research/cohorts). This role will support the collection of new behavioural and neuroimaging data from these cohorts and the development of infrastructure (online experiments, databases, etc) to facilitate this and dissemination of current and future research data.
You should have, or be in the final stages of obtaining, a PhD in psychology, cognitive neuroscience, neuroimaging methods, computer science, informatics or a related field, with experience of behavioural and/or neuroimaging research, such as MRI, fMRI or MEG/EEG. You should have excellent programming and general computing skills, including expertise in web development (eg JavaScript, HTML5) suitable for online behavioural research. Experience with some of the major neuroimaging software (eg SPM/FSL/FieldTrip) would be desirable, as would experience developing, managing, or maintaining large databases. You must be careful, efficient, able to communicate effectively, and enjoy working as part of a diverse and energetic interdisciplinary team. You should be committed to Open Science practices.
There is also the opportunity to conduct your own research, within the remit of the CBU, and to collaborate formally with others working on the same data.
