Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence

The Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence (CFI) invites applications for a Research Associate in an area related to ethical AI in practice (e.g. in policy, design, engineering, etc.), and who will also serve in the development of new projects and programmes as CFI's 'Research Programmes Coordinator'. We are seeking an ambitious candidate with initiative, excellent organisational skills, and a broad intellectual range, who will play a central role in further developing CFI as a world-class research centre.

CFI is a highly interdisciplinary research centre addressing the challenges and opportunities posed by artificial intelligence (AI).

The post-holder will conduct research in collaboration with the research team of the centre's 'Desirable Digitalisation' project on a topic related to the translation of AI impact research for practitioners, where practitioners may include AI designers, developers, managers or government and policymakers.

In addition, the post-holder will work closely with CFI's leadership team in developing its research projects and programmes. This will involve, for example, collaborating closely with other academic partners, developing and maintaining networks of stakeholders, and assisting with the preparation of funding proposals and reports. The appointee will also play an important role in CFI's interdisciplinary activities, including conferences, communications, public outreach and policy impact.
