Department of Public Health and Primary Care, Cardiovascular Epidemiology Unit

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and talented biostatistician or epidemiologist to join the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Blood and Transplant Research Unit (BTRU) in Donor Health and Behaviour http://www.donorhealth-btru.nihr.ac.uk, in the Department of Public Health and Primary Care (DPHPC).

The BTRU aims to address major questions about the health of blood donors, produce strategies to improve blood donor safety and ensure a steady supply of blood to the NHS. The Unit, based at the University of Cambridge, is a partnership with England's blood service - NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) - ensuring that research outcomes are beneficial and translatable to blood service operation.

The Unit is led by Emanuele Di Angelantonio, NHSBT Professor of Donor Health. It collaborates closely with the Universities of Nottingham and Oxford, NHSBT and international blood services and is embedded within the Cardiovascular Epidemiology Unit (CEU) at Cambridge.
