With lecture by Dr Ha-Joon Chang, University of Cambridge

Thursday January 22nd 2015 5.30-7.00 p.m. lecture and panel discussion

Cambridge Law Faculty, Lecture Room LG18

Dr Ha-Joon Chang is Reader in the Political Economy of Development from Cambridge who in his widely-read books such as '23 Things They Don't Tell You About Capitalism' and most recently 'Economics: the User's Guide' has been critical of orthodox economics and economics teaching. Ha-Joon's books have reached a wide audience, and along with other commentators and academic economists, raise questions about whether economics is serving society well, and what might be changes required in the discipline and its contribution to public policy.

Following on from Ha-Joon's talk we have an invited panel including Professor Coen Teulings (Faculty of Economics), Professor Margaret Stevens (Oxford) and representatives from government and industry to discuss the issues raised.

All are welcome. Contact Public Policy SRI coordinator Charlotte Sausman to register: cs738@cam.ac.uk
