Cancer Clinical Informatics Lead (Fixed Term)
Department of Oncology
The CRUK Cambridge Cancer Centre is looking for a Cancer Clinical Informatics Lead to provide data to our many researchers. Access to data for research is fundamental to the success of our research, and the role holder will be able to make significant and strategic contributions to our ability to deliver on outstanding research and to our ability to bring research to patients within the new Cambridge Cancer Hospital.
The successful candidate will provide data to researchers by extracting, transforming and linking clinical and research data from a variety of systems. They will also supervise and support a group of CRUK Cambridge Centre data managers to access clinical data and to develop infrastructure to support these data aggregation and transformation needs, manage staff responsible for the Cambridge Biomedical Campus LIMS system, and will play an essential role in supporting our industrial collaborations to build clinical decision support systems.
Achieving these objectives will mean working with senior researchers to understand their data needs and to design infrastructure and solutions that meet those needs, with due regard to information governance and data security. Our data sources include clinical records extracted from Electronic Medical Records, imaging systems, research grade assays and laboratory information management systems, and continually evolves as our research grows. A key part of this role will involve extracting information from Cambridge University Hospital NHS Trust's data warehouses and other data sources, under the auspices of CUH information governance and in close collaboration with our NHS colleagues.
