Gain hands-on skills and experience in entrepreneurship, consulting and sustainable development, by working on a real university invention in a multi-disciplinary team, supported by entrepreneurs and industry experts.

Past i-Teams projects have resulted in over 110 start-ups which have raised over $300m in investment so far.

Applications are welcomed from participants from any department. No previous commercial, development or scientific background required, just an interest in using technology to make the world a better place.

The i-Teams course includes hands-on teamwork investigating the market potential of an innovative university technology, supported by a series of weekly lectures and workshops. Pizza provided! 


Innovation i-Teams focuses on commercialising new technologies. The course starts on Monday March 17th, then runs weekly on Monday evenings from April 28th, with final presentations on Wednesday June 18th. 

The projects are:
•    Using AI to manage the built environment, from campuses to transport hubs, more effectively
•    Using data to address the greatest challenge in the construction sector – reducing delays and cost over-runs 
•    Aiding the net-zero transition by using solar power to convert air into fuel


Development i-Teams focuses on sustainable development in low and middle-income countries. The course runs on Tuesday evenings from May 6th, with final presentations on Tuesday June 17th.

The projects are:
•    Amulet: A distributed patient health record for humanitarian settings
•    Listo: Digitising agricultural markets in developing countries - increasing transparency and expanding opportunities for smallholder farmers
•    Providing low-cost culturally-sensitive permanent housing for displaced communities
