Research Assistant/Associate in Digital Twin Construction (Fixed Term)

A position exists, for a Post-Doctoral Research Assistant/Associate in the Department of Engineering, to work on Digital Twin Construction.

The post holder will work from the Civil Engineering Building, 7a JJ Thomson Ave, CB3 0FA, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, UK.

The key responsibilities and duties are to devise, implement, and test solutions for constructing operation phase geometrical Digital Twin models for digitising existing buildings. This includes (i) developing methods for detecting building objects and their relationships; (ii) exploring building system priors to infer hidden objects (e.g. pipe segment inside wall); (iii) output the result into the Digital Twin; (iv) testing and demonstrating the resulting system. The post holder shall also: disseminate outcomes to the projects' sponsors; manage own research and administrative activities; assist in student supervision and teaching; liaise with consortium partners, colleagues, and students; lead project tasks and consortium meetings; manage research and lab resources; and contribute to planning of projects led by the principal investigator.
