Research Assistant/Associate in the Future of University Knowledge Exchange Data, Metrics and Performance Measurement (Fixed Term)

The University of Cambridge Policy Evidence Unit for University Commercialisation and Innovation (UCI) has become a leading UK centre providing robust evidence for university research commercialisation policy and practice.

A position exists for a Research Assistant/Associate* in UCI to deliver its work programme on the future of university knowledge exchange (KE) data, metrics and performance measurement. This has become a major interest for university funders worldwide. The outcomes of this work will directly influence what and how KE data is collected across the English university system in the future. Working closely with UK funders, data collection agencies, and others, the programme will include:

  • Developing frameworks to guide the search for new and improved KE data and metrics, building on the latest understanding of KE and advances in data collection/performance measurement systems
  • Engage a community around developing better national KE data and metrics
  • Propose data quality and interface standards to govern national data collection efforts and interoperability of data sources
  • Review existing data sources and identify opportunities for new data collection
